Why and how to set up a blog for your business

How many of your customers find you through your business website? Or do you have an internet business? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then your business will benefit from blogging.

More relevant content on a site means a much better chance of your site appearing in good positions in the search results. Where to blog

One of the main reasons for starting a blog is to drive traffic to your website, so it makes sense to integrate a blog as part of your site rather than running a separate blog.

Over a quarter of the world’s websites are built on WordPress Framework, which started out as a blogging platform. If you’re using WordPress for your website, blogging capabilities are already built in and it’s very easy to add your own blog posts. What to write about

Can’t think of what to write about? No problem. Follow our tips and you’ll quickly have hundreds of ideas.

  • Start by thinking about all the questions customers ask about your services. You can make all answers into separate blog posts.
  • Are there any news or celebrity stories related to what you do? Write the problem along with your opinion about it.
  • Driving forces and shakers in your industry? You can complete a 10-question interview by email or phone.
  • Client profiles? Highlight the most important people in your business with profile interviews.
  • Tutorials “How”. Could you add value to your customers with step-by-step advice on a problem? This could be a written guide or a video.
  • What lists are important to your customers? For example, what are your top selling products in each category? What are the main reasons people come to you for services? Etc.
  • Do you have something to say about key calendar dates such as Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Halloween or anniversaries specific to your business?

How to write

Blogging is different from other styles of business writing. At best, he is friendly and talkative, not dumb. The best advice I’ve had is to write like you’re chatting with a friend or hire a professional writer. Read it out loud and then cut out any words you wouldn’t use with this friend; change jargon to everyday language.

Beginning and continuation

The Internet is full of forgotten blogs. Blogs that were started with great intentions and then quietly abandoned.

Don’t expect quick results. Every article you post is like a fishhook in an ocean of competition. Some get caught in shallow waters, while others hang around for months or years without a bite, only to catch a whale just when you thought no one would ever notice.

The structure will keep you informed. Create an editorial calendar for your first 10-15 articles (see the “what to write about” section above to get started). Decide how regularly you want to blog – daily, weekly, or once a month – routine is more important than frequency. And then focus and motivate yourself by setting yourself a challenge. For the first few weeks or months, you may feel like you are talking to yourself. Press on.
